5 Tips to Put Out the Inflammation Fire
Inflammation is a natural occurrence in your body. Though you may have heard a lot of negative things about it, it does have some positive benefits. For instance, if you cut yourself, the swelling, redness, and pain are your body’s first line of defense to alert you to a problem and to encourage you to take action about it.
At the same time, balance is key to making sure that inflammation is playing a positive role in your health. Once the sprain heals up, the inflammation goes away. On the other hand, Chronic inflammation is a reflection of imbalances in your system. It isn’t necessarily specific to an injury, and it hangs around – with its various discomforts – over the long term.

1. Get active – even if it means that you’re just going for a brisk half hour walk most days of the week, just getting out and getting your muscles moving and your blood flowing while you breathe fresh air can help to lower inflammation and stress and help with proper weight maintenance.
2. Eat right – this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. If you want to be healthy overall, then you need to eat a proper, well balanced diet. Keep your sodium levels within a proper range, reduce your intake of sugars and bad fats, and eat lots of leafy greens among the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains that you’re consuming. This will make a considerable difference.
3. Reduce your stress levels – as much as possible, remove the stresses from your life. Tackle problems head-on so they don’t fester, practice yoga or meditation, exercise every day, get outside for 10 minutes of direct sunlight at least 5 times per week, and remain hydrated. Don’t forget to get a good sleep at night!
4. Detoxify – consume lots of healthy antioxidants to combat the toxins and oxidation that can occur from free radicals that damage the cells of the body.
5. Treat the root cause – don’t just assume that everything is fine. It likely is, but it’s a good idea to speak with your doctor to learn why the inflammation is present in the first place. You can take action to eliminate it, but it is a good idea to make sure there isn’t an underlying condition also present.
